Investment Based Visa
Any persons who wish to establish a business / join in business in Hong Kong can apply for VISA under “Entry for Investment”. This entry arrangement does not apply to:
- Chinese residents of the Mainland; and
- nationals of Afghanistan, Albania, Cambodia, Cuba, Laos, Korea (Democratic People’s Republic of), Nepal and Vietnam.
The visa applicant should be the owner or the major shareholder of a Hong Kong local company. The criteria of application for this visa include the investment amount, the company’s current / future operation, office establishment, recruitment of local staff, contribution to the Hong Kong economy, etc.
Sponsor in Hong Kong
To apply for entry for investment, the applicant must nominate a local sponsor. A local sponsor can either sponsor the applicant as a company or an individual. If the sponsor is an individual, he/she should be:

of the age of 18 or above;

a bona fide Hong Kong resident; and

acquainted with the applicant
Processing time:
It normally takes 4-6 weeks from the date of submission of application. It may take longer if Immigration makes further enquiries.
